Sequoia Banking Contest | Students competed in the virtual Sequoia Banking contest. |
Tulare Citrus Contest | The department hosted the annual Tulare Citrus Contest virtually. Our team also competed and received 3rd place overall. |

Activity | Description |

Committee Meeting | This was our monthly committee meeting. We have all three committees meet the first Friday of each month. |
Mid-Winter State Finals | The Citrus team competed at State Finals and received 4th place overall. |
Arbuckle Field Day | The Farm Power team competed at the Arbuckle Field Day and received 1st overall. The Small Engines team also competed and received 4th overall. |
Sectional Speaking | Our chapter ran this contest virtually. The majority of our own members who competed were able to come into the farm to compete over Zoom to ensure a good connection. We also had some members volunteer as time keepers. |
Regional Meeting | We had members attend as delegates as well as candidates for officer positions. We had one of our members elected president of the region. |
This or That Social Media Challenge | This social media challenge was a large success with many members participating all week long. The challenge involved screenshotting the post on our Instagram story, which asked them a question about agriculture. They then circled their answer and reposted it, with our account tagged. |
February FFA Meeting | This month we held our drive thru degree ceremony, for our greenhand and chapter degree recipients. We set up a photobooth to ensure we collected photos of all our members. |

Sectional BIG Contest | 6 Freshmen competed at the sectional BIG contest and received 1st place in the contest. |
Sectional Coop Contest | 4 students competed in the virtual Cooperative Marketing contest and received 1st place. |
Liberty Ranch Parli Pro Contest | We took our novice team to this contest and they competed very well at their first contest. |
March Committee Meetings | This was our monthly committee meeting. We have all three committees meet the first Friday of each month. |
UC Davis Field Day | Farm Power competed in the virtual UC Davis contest and received 2nd overall. |
UC Davis Agriscience | Emma and Avery Coelho competed in the UC Davis Agriscience contest with their projects and received 1st place. |
MFE/ALA | These events were held virtually this year but we still had multiple members attend both MFE and ALA over Zoom. |
Merced Welding Field Day | Students attended the Merced Welding Field Day virtually. |
March Spring FFA Meeting | This was our Easter themed meeting run by our greenhand officer team. With help from our chapter officer team they successfully ran a drive thru meeting with Easter themed games. |
Book Donations | This was organized by our Building Communities committee, to donate books to those in need. It was very successful as we had about a week allotted for our members to drop off their donations at the farm. |

Regional Speaking Contests | We had multiple members move on through sectionals to compete at regional speaking. This year it was virtual but we still had many members who moved on to state. |
Reedley Field Day | The Farm Power Team competed at the Reedley Field day and received 1st overall. |
Booster Pancake Breakfast | Due to COVID restrictions this was our first year not having a sit down breakfast option, every meal was through a drive thru. We had students and members of our booster club prepare, make, and serve all of our guests and overall it was a very successful fundraiser. |
April Committee Meetings | This was our monthly committee meeting. We have all three committees meet the first Friday of each month. |
Battery Drive | The Building Communities committee hosted a battery drive where community members and students could drop off their old batteries to be recycled. |
April Obstacle Course FFA Meeting | This was our first in-person meeting of the year. We rented out blow-up obstacle courses for our members to compete on after the business portion of the meeting. |
State Finals | We had great success at the state final with our ag issues team going on to nationals as well as some of our agriscience competitors. |

May Committee Meetings | This was our monthly committee meeting. We have all three committees meet the first Friday of each month. |
May Elections Meeting | We held our election meeting in Tulare Unions auditorium and after each candidate answered two questions in front of the membership about ag and FFA the members voted for our newest officer team. |
FFA Banquet | We had many members attend to be recognized for their involvements and accomplishments. We gave out awards and recognized seniors. |

Activity | Description |

Freshmen FFA Meeting | Freshman members attended their first FFA meeting which introduced them to the way that meetings are run. They also participated in a relay race between the three schools. |
Committee Meetings | The committee meeting of September 3rd was the first one of the year when members could pick between three different committees. In these committees joining members were asked to hold a leadership position as a committee chair. |
Fair | Many students participated in the 2021 Tulare County Fair. Students showcased their SAE project throughout the week. |
Greenhand Conference | We sent a group of freshmen to attend the Greenhand Leadership Conference. They attended workshops on a college campus in Lemore and learned about opportunities in our organization as well as leadership. |
Speaker Breakfast | The speaker breakfast was put on before school to create a fun but useful meeting to put together our script for our chapter meeting. It allowed us to connect with our members while working with them. |
COLC - Monache | Our Chapter Officer team attended the officer conference COLC at Monache High School. We went through many leadership workshops and talked about being a better leader. |
Sectional FFA Meeting | Students attended a virtual sectional FFA meeting hosted by the sectional officers where they learned about future careers and opportunities in agriculture. |
FFA Meeting | Students attended the business portion of the meeting at the farm and then walked over to the CDE/LDE fair where students learned more about the teams available in Tulare and how to play an active role in the chapter. |

Activity | Description |

Committee Meeting | The October 1st committee meetings were the second of the year and were used to begin planning the upcoming events that would be coordinated by each committee. The goals and importance of each subcommittee was reviewed as well. |
Susan & Komen Foundation Candy Grams | This year we started a candy gram fundraiser to raise money for cancer awareness. Students bought candy grams for a dollar then those candy grams would be sent to whoever they choose during class. |
Kiwanis Pork Feed Volunteer | Students volunteered to work at the Pork Feed put on by the Kiwanis club. Students spent hours passing out drinks and serving food. |
Sequoia Opening/Closing | Students competed in teams at the opening and closing competition, competing against other chapters in the surrounding areas. The chapter was well represented by many different teams in this competition. |
FFA Meeting | Our October meeting’s business portion was held at the school farm then students were transported to Vossler Farms pumpkin patch for our activity. |
Gar Bennett Growers Volunteer | Students attended the Gar Bennett Growers Luncheon and volunteered. They aided by serving food and refilling drinks. It was a good way to help our local farmers and business. |
National Convention | Six students traveled to Indianapolis to compete or participate as a national delegate. We also had students who received their national farmer degree. |
National Convention - Competing | Our ag issues team competed at the National Convention. After making it out of the first round they competed again and became national champions. We also had an agriscience project compete to make the top ten overall. |

Activity | Description |

Committee Meeting | Students attended one of the three committee meetings. One important objective was signing up for our committee in their AET record books. |
Veterans Day Flag Set Up/Take Down | On Veterans day members went to the Tulare Cemetery and placed flags on veterans graves to honor their service in our military. |
FFA Meeting | At the November meeting we held at Mission Oak we provided tacos and held a dodgeball tournament activity. |

Activity | Description |

Committee Meetings | The Committees went over what goals and events they had accomplished throughout the first half of the year and looked ahead to what will need to be planned for the second semester. |
Sectional Speaking Competing | Students from Tulare FFA competed in Prepared, Job Interview, Impromptu, Extemporaneous, and Creed speaking at the Sectional Level. We had multiple students place and make it to the regional level contest. |
Sectional Speaking Help | Because we hosted the speaking contest we asked students to volunteer their time to help run clocks, keep time, and accurately check speakers. |
Golden West Citrus Contest | Students judged different classes of citrus ranging from Oranges, Lemons, Mandarins, Grapefruit, and Nursery trees and gave oral reasons about them. They also did a class on Identification. |
Fall Awards Ceremony | Students were awarded pins for earning either their Greenhand Degree or Chapter Degree. These were given to Freshmen and Sophomores who completed the minimum requirements to receive a degree. At this meeting we also announced our Greenhand Officer team. |
